Chairman of the Board of Astana Invest Yerzhan Baltayev held a meeting with a manufacturer of energy-saving lighting equipment in order to explain the current benefits and preferences for investors, as well as on the implementation of investment projects in the city of Nur-Sultan, including through the mechanism of public-private partnership.

A foreign company has expressed interest in building a plant for the production of energy-saving electric lamps and lighting equipment in the city of Nur-Sultan, as well as in the country as a whole.

According to the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the volume of production of electric lighting equipment in the republic has increased by 35% over the past 5 years - $15.6 million in 2020. Of these, 16% ($3.3 million) of goods are produced in the capital, 29% ($5.9 million) are produced in the Almaty region, 37% ($7.4 million) are produced in the Karaganda region.

The implementation of such projects will help solve the growing need in the capital and in the country as a whole to replace lighting devices in public places with smart LED lamps. Over the past 4 years, the volume of Kazakhstan's imports of LED lamps has increased by 75% and in 2020 amounted to $15.6 million. Of these, 58% ($9 million) of products are purchased from China, 37% ($5.7 million) are imported from Russia.

To date, the Akimat of the city of Nur-Sultan is working on the modernization of street lighting networks. In turn, Astana Invest provides comprehensive support to all those interested in the implementation of this project to improve the urban environment.
