Joint-Stock Company "Socio-Entrepreneurial Corporation "Astana" (hereinafter referred to as the Company) is a regional development institute. The corporation's activities are aimed at implementing projects together with investors in various sectors of the economy; asset management, including through the development and bringing of subsidiaries and dependent organizations to a break-even level for their subsequent transfer to a competitive environment; support and stimulation of the development of small and medium-sized businesses; ensuring food security.
The idea of creating social entrepreneurship corporations in Kazakhstan belongs to the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N.A. Nazarbayev.
"The activities of these corporations will be aimed at attracting new projects, developing small and medium businesses, and strengthening cooperation. As a result, the SPCs will become large employers and "locomotives" of the country's development, without burdening the state with an increase in the number of civil servants." (from N. JSC SPK Astana was established in 2010. One of the strategic objectives of the Company is to ensure the growth of long-term value and sustainable development of the Company, which is reflected in development strategies and/or development plans.
The corporation’s sole shareholder is the Astana city Akimat.
