Interregional round table on tourism development under the auspices of the «Visit Nur-Sultan» program

On July 9, 2021, the issues of tourism development of the two regions were discussed in the Burabay Park in the format of an Interregional round table with the participation of representatives of the Astana Invest City Investment Development Center, the Tourism Department of the Akmola Region, Burabay Damu LLP, the Presidential Affairs Department of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Burabay State National Natural Park, as well as representatives of the tourism industry of Nur-Sultan and the Akmola Region. 

The event was organized as part of the development of the city partnership program «Visit Nur-Sultan» in order to improve the level of service provided, as well as attract business representatives in the Akmola region for the development of tourist infrastructure.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to the organization of country tours and weekend tours. The crisis situation associated with the global pandemic has undoubtedly had a negative impact on the development of tourism in the country. At the same time, the imposed restrictions helped to unlock the potential for the development of domestic and interregional tourism.

«Today, a significant event was held to discuss the development of the tourist potential of the two regions. We have outlined a common task to unite efforts and exchange ideas.  Together with the Tourism Department of the Akmola region and Burabay Damu of the UDP of the Republic of Kazakhstan, we will develop bilateral Nur-Sultan-Burabay tours, prepare infrastructure, and improve the quality of service,» Yerzhan Baltayev, Chairman of the Management Board of Astana Invest, announced in his speech.

During the round table, the parties also discussed the development of eco and ethno tourism in the regions, the creation of new tourist products and tourist routes, joint cross-marketing events, training seminars for rural residents together with the Kazakhstan Association of Agro and Rural Tourism, and more.

Following the meeting, memoranda were signed to strengthen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of tourism between Astana Invest and the Tourism Department of the Akmola region and «Burabai Damu» LLP of the UDP of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In addition, the event
included a visit to the recreation area «Forest Farm», the resort «AQ BURA», a
visit to the center, as well as familiarization with the tourist infrastructure
of the Shchuchinsk-Borovaya resort area.
