As part of the Year of Blue-Collar Professions, we are sharing stories about hardworking individuals and their unique occupations—people whose dedication contributes to the development of our country.
Today, we’d like to introduce you to Fatima Beketova, an overhead crane operator at Locomotive Assembly Plant JSC, located in Industrial Park No. 1 of the capital.
Fatima began her career at the age of 18 at a mining enterprise in Uzbekistan. After receiving an education in construction, she quickly mastered the crane operator profession through specialized training courses.
"I’ve been working at this plant for over 14 years. Before that, I worked at a gold mining site and at a mining and chemical plant in Stepnogorsk. I love my profession. When you look down from above and see how honestly our guys work, you feel overwhelmed with pride," says the overhead crane operator.
Fatima’s story is a shining example of determination and passion for one’s work. Her experience proves that there are no “male” or “female” professions—only a calling and a desire to contribute to society.
