Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented with a report on the socio-economic and infrastructure development of the capital.

Positive dynamics have been observed across all key economic indicators. Investment volume over the first nine months of this year amounted to 1 trillion 140 billion tenge, which is 16% higher than the same period in 2023.

The President was briefed on the progress of the heating season. Thanks to the launch last year of the Southeast Gas Thermal Power Station (GTP), the first phase of the Turan GTP, and the first phase of CHP-3, the city achieved a surplus in heat supply for the first time. These essential facilities provide Astana with over 1,100 Gcal/hour.

By the end of the year, the second phase of the Turan GTP is expected to be completed, adding another 250 Gcal/hour. Additionally, construction of the Telman GTP has begun, and design work for the Southwest GTP, with a total capacity of 970 Gcal/hour, is underway.

The Head of State was informed about the construction of social facilities (schools, affordable housing, medical centers), completion of long-standing housing projects, and demolition of emergency and dilapidated housing. This new academic year saw the commissioning of 15 out of the planned 24 schools, nine of which are part of the national project “Comfortable School.” By the end of the year, six student dormitories with almost 4,500 beds are to be completed, four of which are already operational.

Zhenis Kassymbek also reported that about 170 yard and public spaces have been improved in the capital, and over 70 streets have been repaired. A million trees and shrubs are planned to be planted.

Following the meeting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a series of directives for the modernization of infrastructure, further development, and improvement of Astana.
