The Astana Invest City Investment Development Center organized an industrial tour for students of the Higher College of Transport and Communications of Astana. The event was held as part of efforts to develop the dual education system.
The college students learned about the activities of STALBAU LLP, its production processes and working conditions, and saw how the professional knowledge they acquire is applied directly in a manufacturing environment.
STALBAU LLP is one of Astana’s representatives of the machine-building industry. The company specializes in the production and supply of municipal, road and specialized machinery. The enterprise has been operating in the market for more than 10 years, developing its own production facilities and introducing modern technological solutions.
«IVECO chassis and Aebi Schmidt/Schmidt equipment are used in the company’s production. In addition, the company independently develops and manufactures specialized superstructures. Having its own production facilities and a service system enables the company to offer customers comprehensive solutions in the special-purpose machinery segment, while also creating opportunities for the development of professional competencies,» said Almat Alimbay, Director of the Industrial Zones Administration Department.
The specialists also noted that Astana Invest, the Higher College of Transport and Communications, and a number of enterprises have signed a tripartite cooperation memorandum aimed at developing dual education.
«Our college is carrying out extensive work to develop the dual education system. Currently, 573 second- to fourth-year students are involved in dual education. One of our key partners in this area is the Astana Invest City Investment Development Center.
«Thanks to the support of Astana Invest, tripartite cooperation has been established between our college and a number of leading enterprises, with relevant memoranda signed. This gives our students the opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with practical training in real production environments.
«For us, the tripartite partnership between Astana Invest, enterprises and the college is of particular importance. The interests of all three parties are aligned toward a common goal — training qualified and competitive specialists who are in demand in the labour market,» said Ulanbek Bakytuly, Deputy Director of the Higher College of Transport and Communications of the Akimat of Astana.
Dual education primarily provides students with significant opportunities. By completing practical training at an enterprise, students become familiar with the specifics of their future profession, develop professional skills and adapt to the working environment. Students who demonstrate strong performance during their practical training may have the opportunity to find employment at these enterprises after graduation.
The dual education system is therefore also beneficial for enterprises. Employers can participate in the professional development of future specialists while they are still studying and adapt them to the specific requirements of production. As a result, enterprises gain young professionals who are already familiar with workplace processes and have practical experience. This also helps reduce the shortage of qualified personnel.
«That is why we regard the tripartite cooperation between Astana Invest, enterprises and colleges as an important partnership that brings education and industry together. As a result of this systematic approach, students gain quality knowledge and practical experience, enterprises participate in the training of qualified personnel, and colleges expand their capacity to prepare specialists in line with the actual requirements of the labour market,» said Ulanbek Bakytuly, Deputy Director of the Higher College of Transport and Communications of the Akimat of Astana.
