ASTANA INVEST supported the I Silk Road Countries Mayors Forum «Global Silk Road»

On July 3, 2018 the I Silk Road Countries Mayors Forum “Global Silk Road" held in Astana that brought together leaders of cities and governments, industry experts to form a new quality of regions / cities.

The Mayor of Astana city, Mr. Asset Issekeshev and mayors of such cities as Ufa, Samarkand, Budapest, St. Petersburg and other representatives of international organizations and companies took part in the forum.

The Forum was distinguished with the presence of humanoid robot Sofia (ginoid), developed by the Hong Kong company Hanson Robotics.

The Forum site provided an opportunity to discuss current issues in the development of the cities of the future, including investments in the creation of smart, sustainable and safe cities, cities with a high quality of life and business, and sharing experiences in these areas.

Within the framework of the forum ASTANA INVEST with the support of the Investment and Enterprise Development Department of Astana city took an active part in promoting investment cooperation between foreign and domestic companies. During the event, the agreements were made on the implementation of a number of investment projects in Astana, including projects for:

• implementation of green technologies;
• creation and functioning of a laboratory for DNA diagnosis in the field of medical genetic engineering on the basis of Nazarbayev University;
• construction of the school on the base of development of Singapore education system;
• production of high-tech building materials;
• development of new services for hight quality and professional textiles processing (overalls) in industry, health and other sectors.
