Mechanical engineering and equipment manufacturing

Mechanical engineering is one of the dynamically developing branches of Kazakhstan's manufacturing industry.

The volume of production in the mechanical engineering industry is growing from year to year and for 2023 amounted to 4,171.9 billion tenge (2022 - 3,114.9 billion tenge). At the same time, the share of mechanical engineering in the manufacturing industry amounted to 19.3%, and in the whole industry of Kazakhstan - 2.3%.

Also, the growth in the volume of production of automobiles amounted to 36.8% compared to 2022.

Growth in the production of equipment, including computers, electronic and optical and electrical and other equipment, amounted to 34.3%

The investment indicators of the industry continue to grow. Last year the volume of investments in fixed assets of machine building and instrument making amounted to almost 20.7 billion tenge.

The development of mechanical engineering in Kazakhstan is promoted by the state support (at the republican and local executive level) of investments, export, special conditions for leasing of machinery, preferential financial instruments to secure projects, grants, a program of preferential car loans and other targeted instruments.
