Work meeting with representatives of German companies in Astana city

Today in the capital there was a working meeting between the management of the Department of Investment and Entrepreneurship Development, the City Centre for Investment Development ‘Astana Invest’, Astana Development Centre with representatives of German companies Ischium Ventures GmbH and Wiese Advisory GmbH.

Khalel Akimzhanov, Head of the Investment and Entrepreneurship Development Department, presented to the investors the mechanisms of state support, talked about the existing investment and innovation projects, as well as free economic zones, which can become attractive for business.

One of the main issues of the discussion was the initiative to issue a Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Sukuk in the capital city, proposed by Ischium Ventures and Wiese Advisory GmbH. The Sukuk SDGs aim to attract funding for projects that contribute to improving air quality, developing renewable energy and ensuring sustainable development in the city.

The Sukuk SDG is based on the principles of Islamic finance, which offers unique opportunities to improve financial linkages and mitigate risks.

During the meeting, opportunities for direct investment in the said area were discussed. The parties agreed to further co-operation and elaboration of concrete steps to implement the proposed projects
