President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented with information on the socio-economic and infrastructure development of the capital.
Positive growth dynamics were reported across all key economic indicators. Investments in fixed capital reached KZT 588 billion during the first four months of the year, representing a 9.1% increase compared to the same period last year. Investments were directed toward manufacturing, education, healthcare, transportation, trade, and logistics projects.
The Astana LRT light rail system has now been fully launched. Plans for the second phase of the project are currently under consideration to further develop the city's public transportation network.
Akim Zhenis Kassymbek also reported on the construction of social infrastructure and the development of residential areas. Over recent years, 44 schools have been built in Astana, with 12 additional educational institutions scheduled to open during the upcoming academic year. Two student development centers and six kindergartens are also planned.
By 2028, two perinatal centers, a multidisciplinary hospital, and a diagnostic and emergency care complex are expected to be commissioned.
The President was also briefed on the development of the city's utility infrastructure and the implementation of the Smart City project.
In 2026, the city plans to improve 173 public and residential spaces and plant more than 1.1 million trees and shrubs.
Having positively assessed the work of Akim Zhenis Kassymbek, the Head of State issued a number of instructions for the further development of the capital.
