From October 1 to December 6 of this year, a series of career orientation tours is being held in Astana for students in grades 7-11 and first-year college students. These tours are organized by the Department of Investment and Entrepreneurship Development, the Astana Investment Development Center «ASTANA INVEST» and the Astana Development Center, in collaboration with the city’s Department of Education. As part of this project, around 5,000 schoolchildren and students have already had the opportunity to visit enterprises and educational institutions in the capital, with plans to conduct tours for over 11,000 children by the end of the year.

Today, students from grades 7-9 at Secondary School No. 23 were introduced to the operations of the Yutariya sewing factory, located in the Astana – New City special economic zone.

During the tour, the students were shown modern sewing production technologies and given a detailed explanation of the workflow. They were able to ask questions to the staff, which made the visit even more engaging.

«We saw firsthand how workwear is made and learned how jackets are shaped. It was very interesting» shared Diana Didarova, a ninth-grade student.

The aim of this tour is to familiarize students with relevant professions that are in demand in the labor market and to cultivate interest in technical specialties.

«We were very happy to meet the students and show them our factory. We believe that such events will help the younger generation make more informed career choices» noted Altyn Tashmetova, head of the jacket production department.
