Abu Dhabi Plaza will create new jobs in the capital

Today, the Department of Employment and Social Protection of Astana, the Department for Investment and Entrepreneurship Development of Astana and ALDAR Eurasia LLP signed a Memorandum of mutual cooperation.

The signing of the document is aimed at establishing a long-term partnership between the parties, in particular, creating conditions for employment of residents of the capital, including persons registered with the Employment Center, as well as training and retraining of personnel within the framework of the functioning of the project of the multifunctional complex (IFC) "Abu Dhabi Plaza" in Astana.

Currently, the construction of the Abu Dhabi Plaza is one of the major and significant projects being implemented in the capital.

In general, as a result of the commissioning of new facilities, as well as due to the development of existing enterprises, 19-20 thousand new permanent jobs are created annually in the capital.

Today, the number of economically active population in the capital is 531.3 thousand people, and the number of employed population is more than 507.2 thousand people. As part of the industrial-innovative and socio-economic development of Astana, the creation of new jobs at the facilities of the IFC Abu Dhabi Plaza (offices, hotel, residential premises and retail facilities) will help to stabilize the situation in the labor market of the capital.

For reference:

  • Astana occupies a leading position with the lowest unemployment rate, which is 4.5%, which is 0.3 points lower than the republican indicator.
  • In 2018, more than 20.0 thousand job seekers applied to the Employment Center in search of work, 11,888 people (57.3%) were covered by social protection measures against unemployment, including: 11,155 people were employed.
  • During 2018, 19,987 permanent jobs were created, including 17,581 jobs in the field of small and medium-sized businesses.
  • In 2019, as part of the implementation of the State Program for the Development of Productive Employment and Mass Entrepreneurship, more than 10 thousand people will be covered by social protection measures against unemployment.
  • Every year, the Employment Center organizes short-term courses on professions in demand on the labor market for employers of the capital.
