Ahead of the Day of Agricultural, Food, and Processing Industry Workers, celebrated on November 16, a correspondent from @elorda.info visited a modern bakery plant in Astana to learn about its production process.
At the plant, filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread, we were greeted by Yulia Azimbayeva, the head of production. She carefully monitors the quality of the products that arrive on store shelves in the morning and end up on consumers’ tables by lunchtime.
“Our plant produces 23 types of bread. These include pan bread, rye bread, yeast-free bread, grain bread, as well as various confectionery items. For customer convenience, we produce bread weighing 300 and 200 grams—depending on the size of the family and their budget. In total, we produce 15,000 loaves per day. The weight of pan, or social, bread is 500 grams, and its wholesale price is 130 tenge. In my opinion, this is the lowest price in the city,” said Yulia Nikolaevna.
According to her, the plant’s products are mainly supplied to schools, hospitals, and stores. Suburban settlements such as Kosshy, Zhibek Zholy, and Koyandy are also covered. However, despite the fact that there are more than 3,000 stores in the capital, the plant’s bread is supplied to only 100–120 of them. This is because the plant opened only in February of this year, and production began in March, so the sales department is still in its development stage. The head of production adds that as the plant increases its operating pace, it will be able to “conquer” the capital’s market within two to three months.
