The Electric Locomotive Assembly Plant (ELAP), or the locomotive assembly plant, manufactures both freight and passenger electric locomotives. ELAP is the only producer of electric locomotives in the Central Asian region. The plant focuses on the production of Prima locomotives, such as the KZ8A freight and KZ4AT passenger locomotives for Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ), and has already exported 40 units of the AZ8A freight locomotives to Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), with an annual production capacity of 100 locomotive sections.
