Today in Beijing, the eighth meeting of the Kazakhstan–China Business Council was held with the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The event brought together more than 500 representatives of government bodies and business structures from Kazakhstan and China, including executives from over 70 of China’s largest corporations. During the meeting, a package of around 70 agreements worth over $15 billion was signed, covering projects in energy, logistics, and manufacturing. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vice Premier of the State Council of China, Ding Xuexiang, endorsed these projects. Key topics included the development of energy cooperation, investment, promotion of “green” growth, and the expansion of logistics and production chains. A live video link connected participants with the industrial base in the “Silk Road” SEZ in Shu, where a new plant producing wind energy components was inaugurated. The meeting concluded with a ceremony of exchanging signed documents between major Kazakh and Chinese companies, totaling more than $5 billion. Among them was a memorandum on the construction and operation of a multifunctional logistics distribution complex, signed between the Akimat of Astana and Svet Shelkovogo Puti LLP. Established in 2013, the Kazakhstan–China Business Council serves as a key platform for strengthening trade, economic, and investment ties between Kazakhstan and China.
