The business forum «Interregional cooperation «Astana-Almaty» was held on September 21 within the days of Nur-Sultan in Almaty dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the capital. The forum was organized by Astana Invest with the support of akimat of the capital.
The forum was attended by representatives of akimats of Nur-Sultan and Almaty, regional chambers of entrepreneurs, development institutions, as well as about 150 Kazakhstan and foreign associations of entrepreneurs and business communities.
Deputy akim of Nur-Sultan Yermek Amanshayev told about the transition of the capital to a new level of development. Now Nur-Sultan is one of the fastest growing cities and a successful urban project on a global scale. The population of the city for 20 years increased 3.6 times, investments - 50 times, the territory - 3 times.
"Nur-Sultan, following global trends, develops new technologies and becomes a global city. In pursuance of the order of the Head of state, the akimat has developed a comprehensive plan for the compact construction of Nur-Sultan with the provision of engineering and transport infrastructure for 2019-2023. The implementation of the Plan will have a positive effect on the development of the economy of both the city and the country, as well as open up new opportunities for business development and attracting investment," Amanshayev said.
The event included B2B dialogues. Representatives of business, state bodies and development institutions of the two cities shared their experience in improving the business climate, the urban environment, the development of state-private partnership and business support.
The participants also got acquainted with the exhibition of 20 achievements of Astana in the field of education, health care, industry, investment, innovation, tourism, architecture, as well as promising projects and opportunities for investment in these areas.
As a result of promoting mutually beneficial cooperation, bilateral documents were signed at the forum. This is a Memorandum of mutual understanding and cooperation between akims of Nur-Sultan and Almaty, as well as documents on cooperation on the implementation of a number of projects totaling about 24, 5 billion KZT in the construction of hotel complexes, production of metal-plastic profiles, SPP and development of SEZ.
An agreement was also reached on the project to expand the existing production of soft drinks in Nur-Sultan "JV "Coca-Cola Almaty Bottlers" LLP. This project provides most of the demand of Nur-Sultan market for this type of product. Over the past 10 years, the company has invested more than 250 million dollars USA in Kazakhstan. The plant in Nur-Sultan has attracted 80 million dollars USA of investments, and today more than 100 people work here.
During the forum, further priorities for the development of Nur-Sultan were identified, among them - the promotion of innovation, the development of the capital as a business financial hub, a tourist center, the creation of favorable conditions for living and improving the quality of public services.
