Olzhas Bektenov inspected the implementation of the President's instructions on developing the industrial sector

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov inspected the fulfillment of the President's instructions on industrial development, infrastructure strengthening, and deeper processing in the agro-industrial complex (AIC) during a working visit to the city of Astana. He visited a logistics center, a medical device manufacturing plant, and enterprises producing bakery, dairy, and meat products.

Astana Mayor Zhenis Kassymbek reported that the city maintains a high pace of economic development and is strengthening its role as one of the country's key business centers. Last year, the gross regional product reached 18.9 trillion tenge. The capital ranks first in the republic in terms of investment in fixed capital: over four months, 587 billion tenge was attracted, with nearly 80% being private investment. The city has 246,000 small and medium-sized business (SMB) entities employing around 560,000 people. The SMB sector's contribution to the economy has reached a record 66%. In 2026, the launch of 26 industrial projects is planned; of these, 8 projects worth 32 billion tenge have already been commissioned, creating around 500 jobs. Additionally, 18 more projects worth 36 billion tenge are planned to be commissioned by year-end, creating around 1,000 more jobs.
